2nd Annual Roswell Green Expo Returns Feb. 23
Roswell’s Sustainability Committee and Keep Roswell Beautiful are pleased to announce the 2013 Roswell Green Expo is scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at Hembree Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In its second year, the expo’s mission is to educate residents about “green” practices they can incorporate into their lives and homes.
Children’s activities include a special music performance “Boogie Woogie Bullfrog” by local artist Jerry Zee and the opportunity to mix and mingle with costumed characters, including Captain Planet, “BAIR” from the Clean Air Campaign, “Bag Monster” from the One More Generation, and “KiRBy” from Keep Roswell Beautiful.
Guests will also enjoy educational sessions, a “trashion” fashion show presented by local student groups, and a “Green Market” full of exciting vendors. Featured speakers and sessions include Dr. Ken Hughes from Skolex Bio-Technologies, Nikki Belmont from the Atlanta Audubon Society, and a rain barrel workshop by Vicki Culbreth, Environmental Education Coordinator for the City of Roswell.
“The expo is a great way for residents to learn about being green while having fun,” said Janet Liberman, co-chair of the Roswell Green Expo and Executive Director of Keep Roswell Beautiful. “The workshops, entertainment and vendors are designed to actively engage community members while teaching simple ways to be sustainable and green. It is not to be missed.”

The expo is free and open to the public. Registration opens at 9:45 a.m.
Pre-registration is required for the rain barrel workshop as space is limited. Registration will open January 22 at www.keeproswellbeautiful.org and will close when full.
